About Snook’s Blooms

Who we are

Faith and family are at the center of everything we do here. I’m deeply grateful for God’s creation and strive to steward it well, guided by values of gratitude, care, and joy. My family always comes first, and this business is built around that priority, allowing me to be present, intentional, and rooted in what matters most.

Snook’s Blooms is proudly small-scale, local, and seasonal. We focus on sustainable growing practices such as minimal chemical use, caring for our soil through composting, crop rotation, and low-till methods, and making thoughtful choices to reduce waste and plastic where possible. Staying small allows us to maintain the charm of our community, build genuine relationships, and offer flowers that feel attainable, personal, and meaningful.

Looking ahead, I dream of Snook’s Blooms becoming more than a flower farm, a place where people gather. A space for on-farm events, you-pick days, photography sessions, dinners, and children laughing between the rows. A retreat for moms, families, and anyone longing to slow down and reconnect with nature, with others, and with God.

If there’s one thing I hope this farm leaves behind, it’s this: that I did what I loved, made people smile, and grew beautiful flowers. And for my children, I hope it shows them that life is full of possibilities, that work can be joyful, kindness matters, and God gives each of us gifts meant to be shared.

Snook’s Blooms was founded in 2024, shortly after I became a mother, during a season when everything in my life slowed down and came into clearer focus.

In the midst of postpartum life, new-mom anxiety, and some especially heavy days, my husband surprised me with the most beautiful bouquet. It wasn’t just the flowers, it was how seen and loved I felt. Having those blooms in our home became a quiet reminder that I was cared for, appreciated, and not alone. I found myself wishing I could be surrounded by flowers all the time, and hoping others could feel that same joy and comfort too.

Becoming a mom changed everything. My view of time, family, work, and the future shifted completely. I didn’t want to rush through life chasing things that don’t truly matter. I wanted to soak in the small moments, be present, and create something that allowed my son to grow up seeing joy, intention, and balance, not parents stretched thin and exhausted by the world’s pace.

Snook’s Blooms grew out of that desire to slow down and live fully. To enjoy life as it is. To make space for family, faith, and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments.

Flowers have a way of reminding us that nothing is final. That light, warmth, and joy are always coming, even after long seasons of waiting. They invite us to pause, to notice, and to reconnect with the world God created. My hope is that when you hold one of our bouquets or visit the farm, you feel a sense of peace and joy, the way we were always meant to feel when we’re connected to nature.

Meet the Grower

Hi, I’m Shayla, the heart behind Snook’s Blooms.

I’m creative, sentimental, and a little quiet until I warm up. I love iced coffee, home-cooked meals, staying in with a good book, Pilates, and spending time with my family (and our dog, Nala). Before flowers, I was an elementary school teacher, then found my way into the world of IT, where I still work part-time today.

Motherhood reshaped how I define success. To me, success isn’t measured by money or scale, but by being happy, healthy, and content with what we have. I want to be rich in love, present for every small moment, and close to home as I raise my babies. Creating something I love, while staying rooted in my family, means everything to me.

Flowers have taught me so much: to slow down, plan thoughtfully, experiment without fear, and let go of perfection. They pulled me out of a dark season and continue to bring joy, growth, learning, and yes, some sweat and frustration too. My favorite part of growing is the process itself, learning what works in my garden, even when it’s different from someone just down the road. It’s all trial and error, and that’s where the beauty is.

If you’re reading this, I’m truly glad you’re here. Even if we never meet, I hope you feel a sense of connection. Life is short and full of wonderful moments, and if anything, I hope this space reminds you to enjoy them, to try something new, do what you love, draw closer to God, and give yourself permission to slow down and savor the beauty around you.
